Over two decades ago Daimyo Arts founder Renee Glick began her involvement
with Japanese art as a Senior Officer with the International Visitors Council in Los Angleles, a business & cultural liason
for diplomatic guests of the United States, where she worked with prominent & up-coming artists, executives, academics
& journalists from Japan as well as other parts of Asia, Europe & the UAE.
She later traveled to Asia.. working with businessmen at Matsushita Denko(Panasonic), and teaching
in Japan's Aichi Prefecture --an area rich in arts history, where she became captivated by Japanese theatre, festival &
ceremony.
After her return to Southern California, Ms. Glick's interest and expertise in the traditional
arts of Japan were furthered through her work with renowned US/UK auction house Butterfield & Butterfield (aka Bonhams
& Butterfields). Today she continues in Los Angeles as a private dealer, consultant & scholar of Japanese
art and antiquities.
Additionally, Renee holds a degree from California State University at Northridge, attended UCLA's
Anderson School, and holds a M.A. in Counseling and Clinical Psychology.
